Mornings are like a candle. A quiet flame rising in the darkness. The stillness of an early morning is steady and burning, like a candle. Mornings come as sure as your heart beats, and when your heart beats with the rising of morning, there's a slowness, and the urgency is lost in watching, and you have time. Time for quiet. Time for words that mend and tend, the warmth of a cup at your fingers. Mornings are time. Mornings light the flame of the day and the quiet of your soul.

I would rather my January be drifted in at the doors, and Carolina Blue light falling in at the windows. But the sun is awake and so am I. AWAKE is how I want to live. AWAKE to writing and words, sorrow and hurt, joy and courage even if the season was not what I wanted. Awake is being alive and knowing you were made for exactly this.
